The Department of Social Work, University of Kashmir organised a live talk through a webinar titled 'Understanding National Education Policy (NEP) 2020' on Monday.
The virtual talk was delivered by Prof Minati Panda, Professor of Cultural Psychology and Education, Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS) Zakir Husain Centre for Educational
Studies,School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University NewDelhi.
The speaker is also a Fellow, National Academy of Psychology (NAOP) and Director, National Multilingual Education Resource Consortium (NMRC).
Earlier, the webinar was inaugurated by Prof Shakil Ramshoo, Dean Research, University of Kashmir who stressed on a need to have more vibrant consultations on NEP-2020.
In her talk Prof Panda highlighted the salient features of this New Education Policy and put the content of NEP into historical and political context.
The speaker identifed numerous critical aspects of the NEP 2020 and at length discussed its implications for school education and higher education institutions.
The two hour live talk was followed by a rigorous question answer session. The session was introduced by Dr Aadil Bashir, Coordinator Department of Social Work, KU and moderated by Dr Javaid Rashid, faculty Social Work, Dept KU.
