In order to educate and create awareness about basic sanitation and hygiene among women from neighboring villages of Shalateng Garrison, a lecture on Women’s Health and Hygiene was organized at Army Camp, Sharifabad on 20 Feb 2020.
The lecture was attended by 105 ladies who were informed and advised on the basic hygiene practices as well as sanitation methods in order to prevent spread of diseases. The lecture also promoted utilization of good habits in order to promote a healthy lifestyle. Dr Mumaira, Gynecologist from SKIMS, Srinagar carried out the lecture followed by an OPD was set up where women were given opportunity to discuss there problems with the doctor.
The event was precluded by tea party which was catered for all participants who belonged to varying age groups. In the last segment of the event a presentation on various entries for women to join Indian Army was shown. The presentation also included various women officers who have proved their mettle to the world which motivated the participants to join armed forces. The event culminated with a group photograph.
The event was well received by the participants who showed great enthusiasm and vigor in understanding the lecture. A large number of questions were also raised by the participants who thanked the Indian Army for providing them an opportunity that would greatly benefit a large section of the women as well as a large section of the society.
