Srinagar, Dec 24: A Team 8 Cyclists from Pune on Friday morning set out for 4000 kilometers Kashmir to Kanyakumari (K2K) Unsupported cycling expedition under the theme “Save Environment” & "Save Mankind" here at historic Ghantaghar (Clock Tower) Lal chowk, Srinagar.
The Unsupported cycling expedition was flagged off by Prisident JK Mountain Biking Association Riyaz Wani along with Secretary JKMBA Asif Bhat
Wani while speaking on the occasion called the expedition a historic movement that a Team of eight Cyclists is attempting to set a record "as Team"
The team cyclists from pune , Maharashtra is aiming to complete the expedition, under the theme "Save Environment & Save Mankind around 14 days by pedaling for around 10 to 15 hours daily.
The Team began the ride at 6.24 am from the clock tower and is expected to reach udhampur, in the first leg.
Team will be also apply World Ultra Cycling Association (WUCA), USA for set the record as Team to complete the 4000 kilometers stretch via costal route Srinagar, Udhampur, Jalandar, Fatehabad, Sikar, Beawar Rajistaan, Savli Gujarat, Navi Mumbai, karvar Karnataka, Trissar Kerla, Kollam Kerala, Kanyakumari.
Speaking at the occasion, Team Leader Mr Vijay thanks JKMBA for supporting the expidition & “we named the expedition as "Save Environment & Save Mankind '' is to spread awareness and importance of fitness as well as
nature care by riding through the longest route on nation’s map. Also, by our actions, we want to let people breathe fresh air, especially those who cannot
exercise. It does make a difference when we make our actions larger than usual and hence this attempt!!!
