Fayaz, Majid take stock of public grievances in Srinagar

‘Govt focused to strengthen cooperative sector in JK’

Commissioner Secretary, Department of Floriculture, Parks and Gardens, Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad and Secretary, Cooperative and Tribal Affairs, Abdul Majid Bhat today took stock of people's grievances during a day-long public grievance camp held at Banquet Hall, Srinagar.
During the programme, nearly 30 delegations, besides individuals from across several districts Jammu and Kashmir including, Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Pulwama, among other areas met the Administrative Secretaries and highlighted their issues. During the camp several service matter cases were also taken up. The deputations sought an early redress from the Government.
A deputation of transporters apprised the Administrative Secretaries about their issues, seeking early redressal of their grievances.
A deputation of unemployed veterinary doctors demanded creation of posts in the department.
Another deputation demanded creation of scheme to adjust unemployed Mechanical engineers in the Transport Department.
A deputation of retired employees of Sheep Production Development Board demanded release of gratuity and leave salary.
A delegation from Shopian demanded establishment of PG hostel in Srinagar.
Various individuals also highlighted their issues including compensation, subsidy under several centrally sponsored schemes in Agriculture and Horticulture departments.
Another delegation said that implementation of National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) schemes in Jammu and Kashmir.
A delegation of contractual employees of Gujjar Bakerwal hostels demanded regularization.
Secretary, Cooperative, said that Government was taking all measures for strengthening the infrastructural edifice in the Cooperative sector in Jammu and Kashmir, besides ensuring better basic needs to people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He assured the people that the government is endeavoring hard to solve all development related issues of every area.
Administrative Secretaries assured the deputations and individuals that all their issues would be looked into for redressal.
Director Floriculture, Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Rather, Additional Registrar, Cooperatives, Kashmir, Muhammad Yusuf Mir, among other senior officers of the concerned departments were present during day-long public hearing camp.
