Police has continued its action against drug dealings in Kulgam. Two drug peddlers were arrested at a checkpoint and contraband substances was recovered from their possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Upper Bazar Qazigund, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. DL9CP-0808 & arrested two drug peddlers identified as Raju Singh son of Shinder Paul Singh resident of Shahzad Jodaw Ludhiana Punjab and Ram Lakhan son of Malie Prasad resident of Mansoraw Ludhiana Punjab.
Officers at the checkpoint recovered 4 Kgs poppy straw from their possession. They have been shifted to Police Station Qazigund where they remain in custody. Vehicle has also been seized in the matter.
Case FIR No. 260/2019 under relevant sections has been registered in Police Station Qazigund & investigation initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
