2 soldiers, 2 porters killed in terror attack in Gulmarg sector

Recent spate of attacks in Kashmir a matter of serious concern: CM

Two soldiers and two army porters were killed in a terror attack on an army vehicle near Botapathri in Gulmarg sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday evening.
Sources said the terrorists ambushed army vehicles in Botapathri area in Gulmarg sector in the evening.
“The terrorists fired heavily on the army vehicles. The fire was returned by the troops. In the terror attack, two soldiers and two army porters were killed and three soldiers injured,” they said.
The injured army men were evacuated to nearby military hospital, where doctors are attending them.
After the attack, a massive search operation was launched by army men in the area to locate the attackers.
The army has pressed drones and other electronic gadgets into service to track the movement of the terrorists involved in the attack.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack.
"Very unfortunate news about the attack on the army vehicles in the Boota Pathri area of North Kashmir which has resulted in some casualties & injuries. This recent spate of attacks in Kashmir is a matter of serious concern. I condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms & send my condolences to the loved ones of the people who lost their lives. I also pray that the injured make a complete & swift recovery", Omar posted on X, formerly twitter.
The attack took place a few hours after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and presented a cabinet resolution advocating for reinstatement of J&K’s statehood.
