25 more die of Covid-19 in J&K

1117 new cases reported in 24 hours

The Jammu and Kashmir government said on Thursday that 25 people succumbed to the novel coronavirus in last 24 hours during which 1117 fresh Covid-19 cases were also reported.

An official handout on Thursday said that of the new cases, 332 were reported from Jammu division and 785 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total count to 304866.

“13 deaths were reported from Jammu while 12 were from Kashmir valley. This has taken the overall toll to 4143,” officials said.

The officials said Srinagar reported 194 cases, Baramulla 100, Budgam 121, Pulwama 77, Kupwara 81, Anantnag 74, Bandipora 44, Ganderbal 30, Kulgam 56, Shopian 8, Jammu 50, Udhampur 47, Rajouri 44, Doda 56, Kathua 16, Samba 11, Kishtwar 24, Poonch 22, Ramban 51 and Reasi 11.

“2363 more COVID-19 patients have recovered—886 from Jammu Division and 1477 from Kashmir. A total of 282142 people have recovered, leaving the active positive cases to 18581— 6949 in Jammu and 11632 in Kashmir,” they said.

The handout said there are 2837 COVID dedicated beds, 2423 Isolation beds with 2088vacant beds and 414 ICU beds where 316 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 3353 COVID dedicated beds, 3074 Isolation beds where 2211 beds are vacant and 279 ICU beds where 223are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 6190 COVID dedicated beds, 5497 Isolation beds with 4299 beds vacant and 693 ICU beds with 539vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing allnecessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.

The government has also started free tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install esanjeevani OPD app from google play store.

Besides, 24x7 Rapid Antigen Testing facility for COVID-19 has been started outside the emergency of GMC Hospital Jammu. The facility will be very useful for segregation of patients in emergency wing of GMC Jammu.

Meanwhile, a 24x7 COVID Control Room has been set up for redressal of the grievances related to COVID-19 positive patients admitted in the Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College, Jammu and Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Patients or attendants can call at 0191– 258 5444 (Control Room), Exchange: 0191-258 2626 / 258 5542 / 258 4290 /258 4291 / 258 4292 / 258 4293/ 258 4294 for assistance.
