At least four people, including a woman, died while seven others were injured in twin road accidents at the mountainous Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, today.
“Three people died on the spot and one succumbed to injuries in hospital, when their taxi skidded off the road and rolled down the road in Gursoo Khelani area on Doda-Batote road this morning,” police here said. They said the taxi, on way from Jammu to Gundoh, skidded off the road near Khelani, police here said.
They said that three people died on the spot, while one injured succumbed, on way to district hospital. “Two critically-injured have been rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for specialised treatment,” police added.
The deceased were identified as Khadam Hussain, Haji Ali, Haji Kasam and Bakhya Begum, all residents of Chilli Bhalessa area in Bhaderwah tehsil. The injured were identified as Hassan Din, Haneefa Bano, Layaqat Ali, Shaida Bano, Talib Hussain, all residents of Chilli, Bhalessa, Bhaderwah. Meanwhile in another accident, one van rolled down at Guwari, in which two people – Aqib Wani and Muzaffar Wani – were injured and shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Gandoh.
