Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Wednesday conducted a mega awareness program for unemployed youth of district Doda.
The Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) was attended by more than 400 educated unemployed youth of the district.
MLA Doda, Mr. Shakti Raj Parihar was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Parihar urged the JKEDI to conduct such awareness programs at grass root level. He also asked youth of Doda district in particular to take up entrepreneurship as career option to earn decent livelihood. He said Doda district is full of opportunities and educated youth need to work hard to tap them.
Chief Programme Officer, JKEDI, Dr Majid Manzoor Khan gave a brief about the work of the institute and unemployment scenario of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He also explained different entrepreneurship development schemes being implemented by the institute.
On the occasion JKEDI also felicitated its six successful entrepreneurs of district Doda and presented them mementos. Mementos were also presented to MLA Doda, and DDC Doda. The successful entrepreneurs shared their experiences. District Development Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar, Commanding Officer 10 RR, representatives from district administration, line departments and J&K Bank were also present on the occasion.
Earlier Mr. Gowhar Nazir Lone from JKEDI District Office welcomed the guests and participants while Mr. Mudasir conducted the proceedings of the event. He also briefed the gathering and guests about the work done by JKEDI in district Doda.
The educated unemployed youth were made aware about different entrepreneurship development schemes being implemented by the institute for unemployed youth of the state.
