61 Killed in Gaza, China expresses concern

As on today, 61 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli forces in Gaza. Palestinians are protesting against the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem. Most of the civilians were killed during clashes and protests along the Gaza border. The current situation is considered deadliest escalation of violence since 2014.

As per the reports in international media, Belgium has summoned Israeli envoy while Turkey has expelled Israeli Ambassador Over Gaza deaths meanwhile in Palestine the leaders have termed the Monday’s killings as massacre and have said that killings by Israeli forces has drawn international condemnation. On Tuesday China too has expressed concern over situation in Gaza. According to various media reports China has called on both Israel and Palestine to exercise restraint.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang has said that China calls on both Israel and Palestine, especially the Israeli side,
to keep restraint to avoid further escalation of tensions.
