Acting tough against social crimes, Srinagar Police have arrested 07 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money.

A police party of Police Post Nehru Park raided a gambling site at Zabarwan Park Boulevard road following an input about gambling activities and apprehended 07 gamblers. They have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Guroo resident of Umer Colony Bemina, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Batamaloo, Ishfaq Ahmad Banjari resident of Surteng Rainawari, Taseen Ahmad Khan resident of Abi Nowpora Khanyar, Irsahd Ahmad Shah resident of Aram Masjid Khanyar, Mudasir Ahmad Beigh resident of Hati Khan Rainawari and Gowher Ahmad Zargar resident of Tulsibagh Solina.
Officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ?26,060/- from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to PS RM Bagh where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 128/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station RM Bagh and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
