86th Guru Dakshta Faculty Induction Programme begins at KU

The 86th Guru Dakshta Faculty Induction Programme (FIP) started at the University of Kashmir.

Vice-Chancellor Central University of Kashmir Prof Mehraj-ud-Din Mir was the chief guest at the inaugural session of the FIP, organised by the varsity’s UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC).
In his presidential address, Prof Mir spoke about the importance of such courses for teachers in higher educational institutions.
Asserting that a good teacher-student relationship is the hallmark of great academic institutions, Prof Mir said teachers must do everything possible to reach out to their students with updated information and knowledge.
Director Colleges, Department of Higher Education, J&K Government, Prof Yasmeen Ashai, who was a guest of honour, talked about the interpersonal and intrapersonal relations that a teacher should focus on to thrive in academia.
Referring to a need for a strong teacher-student bonding, Prof Ashai discussed in detail the educational evolution process and the way things have changed in academia where more focus is on new and emerging technologies.
Director HRDC Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Darzi welcomed the guests and participants. He laid stress on how the current programme can bring about academic and moral accolades to the teaching community.
Prof Darzi also discussed in detail the functions of the HRDC and its achievements over the years.
