An enforcement team of Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) in a major drive retrieved land comprising over 10 kanals from land grabbers in Bemina area of Srinagar city.
Sources said that Jammu Kashmir police that was part of the team dismantled the tin sheets over the grabbed land.
The drive was launched under a special demolition campaign and demolition took place Sector 2 of Sir Syed Abad area of Bemina.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Chowdary, SDM, Tehsildar and other officials from SDA and Revenue Department were present on the occasion.
An official said that the encroachers and land grabbers have grabbed over 40 kanals of land and even have done land filling. “All this land grabbed illegally by grabbers will be retrieved,” he said.
The authority will continue the demolition drive of illegal construction in the areas against the encroachers and land grabbers, he added.
