Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dhirendra Sharma flagged off a group of 50 progressive farmers belong to the organic cluster of Gandhri, Kabbi and Billawat of district Ramban to SUKAST Jammu.
Chief Agriculture Officer Ramban, MG Singh besides other agriculture officers/officials were present on the occasion.
ACR said that the objective of this programme is to introduce and educate the farmers about the modern techniques and knowledge of organic farming. He said that the programme has been organized for acquainting the farmers with emerging trends in organic farming and cultivation of different agricultural crops on scientific lines.
He advised them to adopt eco-friendly practices in the farming to realize the goal of sustainable agriculture.
CAO Ramban informed that during the programme the farmers will interact with the university experts at SUKAST Jammu regarding the latest happening in agriculture in general and organic farming in particular.
