An Attack on Prophet (SAW) is Unacceptable

October 08, 2024 | Dr Sheikh Arshid Ahmad

A malicious Hindu Pandit named Yeti Narsinghanand has appealed to Hindus to burn effigies of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on Dussehra is a direct attack on the sentiments and integration of Muslim Ummah.

This is the second major affront to the Prophet's honour in two months by Hindu Pandits in public. On August 16, Hindu Pandit Ramgiri hurled insults at the Messenger of Allah (SAW) in his Awami Sabha in Maharashtra.
Ever since the religious, national and political leadership of the Muslims began to compromise with the glory of their great leader and Prophet Muhammad (SAW), they are being humiliated and humiliation is becoming their destiny. The organization is not ready to go ahead and make a ruckus for the honor of Prophethood, due to which the morale of Hindu attackers has increased and they are starting to consider such a shameful act of insolence in the honor of the Prophet of Allah as their bravery.
I have repeatedly called upon the great Muslim scholars and national and religious leaders to start a nationwide movement to protect the honor of the Prophet, otherwise tomorrow these beasts will make the glory of Muhammad (SAW) the subject of public abuse in this country. But no positive response came from anyone. And today this Narsinghanand is appealing to the Hindus to burn the Prophet of Muslims, do you know how far the situation has reached?
The Sangh Parivar is making insolence in the noble Prophethood so that the Muslims end their fanatical and fanatical relationship with their Prophet Mohammad (SAW) and treat their Prophet like the religious figures of other religions and do not be serious about their Prophet so that in the future the Muslims will be saved and can also be operated on the paths of Krishna, and if such a situation remains, our future generations will become accustomed to this distortion.
The same situation that happened in Europe regarding Hazrat Isa (SAW) is what the Sangh Parivar is trying to do here in relation to Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). The national and religious leadership of Muslims has already delayed to protect the honour of Prophethood, if there is further delay, these Hindu attackers will trample the honour of Muslims all over the country. It is the time to declare the protestation, the nation that will not be in the field to protect the honor of its Prophet, can it have any honour of its own?
The recent comments made by Hindu Pandit Yeti Narsinghanand are highly inflammatory and unacceptable, appealing to Hindus to burn effigies of Prophet Muhammad on Dussehra. This is not an isolated incident, as Hindu Pandit Ramgiri also hurled insults at the Prophet in August. These actions are a direct attack on the sentiments and integration of the Muslim community.
It's crucial for Muslim scholars and leaders to take a strong stance against such blasphemy and protect the honour of Prophet Muhammad(SAW). The silence from the national and religious leadership is concerning, as it may embolden further attacks on the Muslim community.
Historically, the Kashmir Valley has witnessed similar tensions between Hindu and Muslim communities, leading to the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s ¹. The region has struggled with reconciliation, and such provocative statements can exacerbate existing divisions.

Key Concerns

Increased Tensions:- These comments may fuel hatred and violence against Muslims.
Lack of Leadership:- The delayed response from Muslim leaders may be perceived as weakness.
Historical Context:- Similar incidents in the past, like France ,Paris, Europe and other parts of the world.

Call to Action

Muslim leaders must condemn these statements and mobilize support for protecting the Prophet's honor.
Interfaith dialogue and education can help alleviate tensions and promote understanding.
The government should ensure the safety and security of all communities, regardless of faith.

Legal and Policy Framework

Existing laws against hate speech and blasphemy are being reviewed.
Calls for stricter laws and enforcement have been made.
Debate about balancing free speech with protection from hate speech continues.

Education and Awareness

Education and awareness campaigns promote tolerance.
Teaching history, cultural sensitivity and critical thinking is emphasized.
Media promotes positive narratives and counters misinformation.
The situation demands immediate attention and collective action to prevent further escalation and promote peaceful coexistence.
