Arm organizes Kalgai Cricket Premier League

The Kalgai Cricket Premier League organized by the Army at Kalgai Village in Uri culminated on 07 Nov 2017 with Jabla Eleven emerging as champions. The aim of Kalgai Premier League was to promote spirit of sports among the youth of Kashmir living in border villages besides a bid to provide them a platform to display their sporting talent and skills.
In a nail biting finsh, Jabla Eleven defeated Sarai Eleven by 4 runs, keeping the spectators on the edge of their seats. The excitement and thrill soared high all throughout the final match. Both Winners and Runners up were awarded with a Trophy along with cash awards.
Twenty four teams from the border villages participated in this event which was held from 23 Oct to 07 Nov 2017. Young cricketers from border villages of Uri, Jabla, Param Pillan, Salamabad ,Sarai, Isham ,Chakra, Sultan Dhaki, Kalgai , Urusha, Dardkot and Namala competed with each other displaying their dynamic talent. The event was witnessed by a large crowd of spectators from these villages who encouraged the players and appreciated the initiative by the Army to promote the local talent.
