The Army extended its hand and found it warmly clasped by the people as the Uplona camp organised an interaction with the key stakeholders of Amargarh, Delina, Puthkah, Ningali, Sultanpur Kandi and Singhpura areas of Baramulla division. The occasion provided a very conducive platform for over 100 people including Panchs, Sarpanchs, Teachers and other prominent citizens to share their views and hardships with officials of Army and police that included the Haiderbeig based RR Sector Commander, SSP Baramulla and SP Sopore.
The futility of the ongoing unrest owing largely to the continuous Bandh calls, protests and violence was unanimously acknowledged by all present. The RR Sector Commander exhorted all to understand the harm this cycle of violence was causing to the whole of Kashmir and the Nation and join hands in thwarting the nefarious designs of inimical elements.
The interaction at Uplona with such a strong gathering once again emphasised the demand and will of the local people to work towards peace and the well being of the area. This further enhanced the bond between the Army and the Awaam and reinforced faith of the locals in the intent and ethics of the security forces in working for their betterment.
