Army launches 8th edition of Uri premier league

Army based at Uri launched eighth edition of Uri Cricket Premier League. The league was instituted in 2010 to promote local talent and strengthen the bond with the youth. The coordinating conference was conducted at Kalapahar Auditorium, Uri, which was attended by over 250 players.
The eighth edition of Uri Cricket Premier League, (UPL) in which 48 teams from Uri, Boniyar, Nambla, Bhijama, Chulan, Gingle and other village are participating, will start from 17 Jul 2017. The teams have been divided into four pools and matches shall be played on knockout basis.
During the conduct of UPL, the jury of officials will select fifteen best players, who will subsequently be trained by Pune based professional cricket coaching academy. The selected Uri XI will also play a one day match with Pune XI at IPL stadium Pune and also meet an international player of Indian cricket team.
