Army pays tributes to slain soldiers

Army today, paid a befitting tribute to Late Havildar Padam Bahadur Shrestha & Late Rifleman Gamil Kumar Shrestha, who made the supreme sacrifice on the Line of Control on 20 October 2019 in Tangdhar sector. In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Maj Gen G S Kahlon, Chief of Staff, Chinar Corps, and all ranks paid homage to the bravehearts on behalf of the proud nation.
In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects.
Late Havildar Padam Bahadur Shrestha & Late Rifleman Gamil Kumar Shrestha were deployed on Line of Control in Tangdhar Sector and sustained splinter injuries during unprovoked ceasefire violations by Pakistan Army in the early hours of 20Th October 2019. Both individuals were evacuated to Field Hospital, Tangdhar but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.
Late Havildar Padam Bahadur Shrestha, was 38 years old and had joined the Army in 2001. He belonged to Village Dighali Pather of Dhansiri tehsil in District Golaghat, Assam and is survived by his wife, a daughter and two sons.
Rifleman Gamil Kumar Shrestha, was 21 years old and had joined the Army in 2017. He belonged to Village Rampur of District Palpa in Lumbini Zone, Nepal and is survived by his parents.
The mortal remains of the both the soldiers were taken for last rites to their native places, where they would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and remains committed to their dignity and wellbeing.
