Army rescues 17 trekkers in Sonamarg

Indian Army Patrol located at Sonamarg successfully evacuated 17 trekkers from Seven Lake Trek who were stranded there due to bad weather.
Altogether 24 trekkers which includes 17 tourists, 7 trekking staffs, hails from Mumbai. They had started their Seven Lake Trek on 18th Jun 2022. On 22nd Jun, Wednesday, due to bad weather and severe snowfall, they got stuck near Vishan sar lake. After receiving the information, a team of 12 Indian Army soldiers patrol located at Sonamarg sprung into action to rescue the trekkers and tourists. After 8 hours of walk from Lashpatri (Sonamarg) all 24 tourists were rescued and safely brought back to Laspatri Army camp. They were provided with warm tea and food. They were also examined by the medical team present there. Victims were thankful to the rescue team and later moved to Srinagar.

3. This impromptu act of assistance to the locals, shines forth as the perfect example of the close bonding between the public and the Army in the area and sheds a reassuring light on Army's continued support in every sphere of their lives.

Altogether 24 trekkers which includes 17 tourists, 7 trekking staffs, hails from Mumbai. They had started their Seven Lake Trek on 18th Jun 2022. On 22nd Jun, Wednesday, due to bad weather and severe snowfall, they got stuck near Vishan sar lake.
