A group of Bakarwals was stranded near Chhut pass in snow storm since last two days.
The group had four young children and three adults.
An Area domination Patrol of Army from Sangam base while patrolling ahead of Gangdhar near Chhut pass noticed the stranded group and approached to enquire and search their settlement.
The group had already lost most of their livestocks and with couple of dead livestock near their shelter. The makeshift tent they had pitched was shattered by strong winds and had nothing left to eat.
On further investigation it was observed that the group had come from Nagrota and had recently reached the location.
The party commander took stock of the situation and found that the two of the young children were having high fever.
On request of the group elder it was decided to evacuate the children along with one elder to the safety of army camp, while two elders decided to stay put to guard the leftover livestock.
A half link was organised to provide the staying back individuals with ration and necessary clothing, while the children were accomodated in the area close to Company Operating Base where they were provided with hot meals.
