Army sends Kashmiri students on India tour

A group of twenty students from the remote Karnah valley, Kupwara have set out on a ten days capacity building tour from Tangdhar to – Delhi and Jalandhar.
Aimed at introducing the young minds to the nation’s rich heritage, vast cultural diversity, secular ideals, resilient economic resurgence and plethora of opportunities for professional and personal growth, the tour entails visits to various historical, educational, cultural and industrial hubs.
The tour was flagged off by commander of Thunderbolt Brigade and District Social Welfare Officer Mr Mumtaz from Drugmulla. Speaking to the children, Mr Mumtaj exhorted them to make full use of the opportunity being provided by the Army and motivated them to share the experiences with their peers.
Another Capacity Building Tour under the aegis of Thunderbolt Bde of Vajra Div was flagged off from Drugmulla on 18 May 2017. The Tour consists of 22 x unprivileged students of Karnah Tehsil. The students visit various educational institutions and factories in Delhi NCR, Jammu & Jalandhar. The aim of the Tour is showcase to youth of Kashmir the immense National cultural diversity, resilient economic growth & opportunities for professional & personal growth in the country. The flagging of ceremony was attended by Mr. Mumtaj District Social Welfare Officer, Kupwara.
