Modi, Shah determined to make 854 central laws applicable in J&K: Dr Jitendra Singh
Srinagar: Hitting out at Kashmiri mainstream politicians, the central government on Saturday said that those who were claiming that volcanoes and earthquakes would take place after the abrogation of Article 370 have been silenced. The government also stated that the Article 370 won’t make a comeback and precisely 854 central laws will be implemented in the newly introduced J&K Union Territory.
According to the wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office and Bharatiya Janata Party’s incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) from Udhampur constituency, Jitendra Singh said that the Article 370 that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir won’t make a comeback.
“Let each one of us understand once for all, let each one of keep reminding ourselves, let each one of us keep those around us also reminding that Article 370 is gone. It’s gone and it’s gone forever and it’s not going to make a comeback,” he said.
Speaking in a two-day conference on Jal Shakti and Disaster Management in Jammu, Singh lashed out at the mainstream politicians of Jammu and Kashmir, stating that those who were threatening the government over the abrogation of Article 370 have been silenced.
“Even the prophets of those who were talking about volcanoes and earthquakes happening have also been silenced. It (Article 370) has gone in whole,” he said.
He added that after the abrogation of Article 370, two Union Territories having come into existence, now, its determined resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah that “we have to implement all those central acts in Jammu and Kashmir, which were not there in last seven decades. There are at least more than 854 central acts which needs to be implemented here. We just had less than 200 of them here.”
“Therefore, we have to make up for the lapses of last seven decades and these are all citizen friendly acts, which are meant to reach the last man in the last queue and to liberate the lowest strut of the society from exploitation that they might have suffered otherwise earlier in the hands of vested interests,” he added.
“We have taken a very important responsibility at hand and we are going to carry it forward. The Lieutenant Governor regime has the mandate to do so. These acts are being notified one after the other,” Singh said while addressing a gathering. (KNO)
