Assam Rifles won the final of women’s championship

As the 71st B.N. Mullik Memorial All India Police Football Championship approached the final stage, today excited matches were played among the women and men football teams. The finale of Women’s Championship was played at Synthetic Turf Ground TRC Srinagar where ADGP Kashmir graced the occasion as the chief guest. The final clash for the title between Mizoram Police & Assam Rifles is scheduled tomorrow on 20th of March 2023 at 1:20PM at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar.

Prior the match, ADGP Kashmir interacted with players of both the teams and congratulated them for their exemplary performances throughout the championship. He lauded all the women teams who performed in the championship for showing courage and displaying their skills which encourages the local youth of the valley. He also praised the J&K Police women football team for enticing local women towards sports activities. Speaking on the occasion, ADGP Kashmir said that the main motive of such types of activities is to attract the youth in sports besides, refrain them from doing any ill activities which is harmful for them as well as for the society.

The women football finale was played at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground between Assam Rifles & SSB team. The mouth-watering match was witnessed by a huge crowd who were supporting their favourite teams. During the match, tense moments were seen for the crowd as their favourite teams tried to dominate the opposite side. SSB women team tried various attempts but could not break the defence of Assam Rifles which gives Assam Rifles edge to win the championship at the end by the margin of 3:1.

Pertinently, before the finale match, CRPF women and Odisha women teams played Hard Liner match for achieving 3rd position which ended with the win of CRPF women team by 2:0.

In men’s competition, two semi-finals were played between Assam Rifles and Kerala Police at Kashmir University ground and Mizoram Police & Punjab Police at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar.

The match between Assam Rifles & Kerala Police was played with great fervour as the road to the finals has not been easy for either team. However, their resilience and fighting spirit have seen them through the challenges and today they fought for the glory. Assam Rifles managed to break the wall to enter the finale of the Men’s championship by defeating Kerala Police 3:0.

In another nail-biting semi-finale contest between Mizoram Police and Punjab Police witnessed thrilling efforts by both the teams at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar. Both the teams tried their highest level of skills to dominate the opposite team in order to enter the finale. However, Mizoram Police scored the marginal goal and entered the finale of the championship by 2:1.

The finale match will be played between Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar tomorrow at 1320 hours (1:20PM).

As the men football teams approach the finals, we wish both teams the very best of luck. May the best team win and may this match be remembered for years to come.

 

Mens final match followed by the closing ceremony of 71st B.N Mullik Memorial All India Police Football Championship is scheduled to be held at Bakshi Stadium tomorrow on 20th of March 2023. Hon'ble LG J&K Shri Manoj Sinha will be the Chief Guest on the occasion.
