Badam Vaer’s almond bloom mesmerizes locals, tourists

The Badam Vaer garden in Srinagar has come alive as the spring season has set in. The multicoloured almond flowers that bloom in the garden are attracting a lot of visitors.
The enchanting almond bloom is captivating the hearts of all who wander through its verdant pathways.
Set in the foothills of Hari Parbat fort, which is also called Koh-e-Maran in Srinagar, this garden is simply amazing. The garden has traditional, cultural and heritage significance.
The place is also quite pious as several popular religious attractions such as Hazrat Makhdoom Sahib shrine and Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi are also in the region.
The Badam Vaer stands as an example of the rich cultural heritage and artistic grandeur of Kashmir.
Its orchards adorned with blooming almond trees, paint a mesmerising look offering a serene retreat amidst nature’s bounty.
With the onset of spring, Badam Vaer becomes a haven for nature enthusiasts and admirers of floral beauty.
Alongside the almond blossoms, a vibrant tapestry of roses, tulips, daisies, lilies, and hyacinths adorns the landscape, infusing the air with their sweet fragrance and adding to the garden’s allure.
During the spring season due to the multi-coloured almond blossoms that are in peak bloom these days, people visit Badam Vaer in large numbers.
Tourists and locals alike are mesmerized by the camaraderie of delicate white and pink almond blossoms adorning the landscape.
Tourists love the garden because it is not as crowded as other places in the city and the overall ambience is also quite peaceful. This is one of the prime reasons that the tourists and locals are drawn here.
A tourist from Maharashtra said, “We are thrilled to see the white almond bloom in the garden. It gives a paradise-like feel”.
“This is a completely different garden. This is my first visit to the Valley, and I have never seen anything like this. This is the best curtain raiser of my trip,” said another tourist from Delhi.
“The overall ambience of this garden is very peaceful. That’s why everyone including locals as well as tourists, are visiting Badam Vaer during the almond blossoms,” said a local Javed Ahmed. “The majestic garden exhibits our rich heritage and brings people together”.
During the blooming season, cultural events and performances are organized, showcasing Kashmir's rich heritage through music, dance, and art. These events foster a sense of unity and pride among locals, highlighting the cultural significance of Badam Vaer beyond its scenic charm.
