Boat carrying 40 students capsizes in Maharashtra, 4 dead

At leat four school students died after a boat capsized near Parnaka beach off the coast of Dahanu in Mumbai on Saturday morning. The boat was carrying 40 students. So far, 32 students have been rescued and search operations for the remaining are underway. Dahanu is over 100 kilometres from the city.
“There was an incident of boat capsize at Dahanu Parnaka Beach. A boat carrying around 40 students capsized at 11.30 am. So far 32 students are rescued. Remaining are still missing. Search operation is going on. All our local officers and staff are on the spot. Rescue teams from other departments are also there,” Superintendent of Police, Palghar said.
The deceased were identified as Sonal Bhagwan Surati and Janhawi Harish Surati. Both, 17 years old, were residents of Masauli Ambedkarnagar.
