Bollywood’ Richa Sharma gives boost to Kashmir’s Sufi culture

Bollywood playback singer Richa Sharma who arrived in Kashmir yesterday after 21 years said she is excited to resume her romance with the region.

Talking to Brighter Kashmir, she said it was the same date and day in the year 2000 when she and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan launched the DD Kashir channel.
She said when the plane touched ground at the Srinagar airport, it was a joyous moment for her to see the beautiful Valley of Kashmir again.
She said Kashmiri is ever hospitable to the visiting persons from mainland India and benevolent. Mesmerized by the beauty of Kashmir she said it is a land of perfect solace to even strangers.
Staying in the houseboat in Golden lake area of world famous Dal Lake ( King of Sea Group of Houseboats) is new experience to me said Sharma.
Her visit to Valley comes in the wake of the shooting of song by Mumbai based Music Company “A R Music studios. The company is shooting a video album titled “Mere Ali Maula Ali”. which is based on revival of Sufi culture of Kashmir.
The song is written by Nitishwar Kumar, directed by Jaan Nissar Lone and produced by Rani Hazarika. The shooting of the song is going on in full swing at different locations of Kashmir.
This album is a Sufi-influenced composition. Versatile playback Singer Richa Sharma, who has many popular Bollywood sufi songs to her name has lent her voice to this album.
She said she had to monitor whether the shooting of song was going on smoothly and to shoot some shot, she will also herself feature in the song .
She said Kashmir is beautiful, “We can’t take our eyes off this scenic beauty”.
She also expressed her happiness for being a part of this song . “Every thing has its destiny and so has this song. Everything fell into place from dates, shooting and even coming to this place. I feel so blessed and happy. This is a Sufi based song which will have all elements of Sufis related shrines in it So being a part of this I am feeling honoured,” she said. She said I can assure you that it will be an unusual album and it will be a blast for the audience.”
