As part of the Border Roads Organisation’s (BRO) ongoing outreach program, Project Sampark under the dynamic leadership of Brigadier Neeraj Madan conducted a comprehensive lecture today at the NCC Training Academy, Nagrota, attended by 470 enthusiastic NCC cadets. The session aimed to familiarize cadets with the vital role played by BRO in national defence through the development of critical infrastructure in remote and border areas. It also highlighted the exciting career opportunities within the organization for NCC cadets.
Assistant Executive Engineer Pushpit Bhargava, who delivered the lecture, spoke extensively on the accomplishments of the BRO, which extends beyond national borders. He outlined the organisation's involvement in projects of strategic & national importance. The cadets were particularly interested in the BRO’s adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as geosynthetics for slope stabilization, modular bridges, and 3D printing for construction in challenging terrains.
In addition to highlighting the BRO’s achievements, Bhargava also addressed the numerous career opportunities within the organisation. He explained the various roles available and the benefits specifically provided to NCC certificate holders during the recruitment process. NCC cadets holding a 'C' certificate are awarded 10 additional marks, while 'B' certificate holders receive 5 additional marks during issue of call letters for various recruitments, giving them a distinct advantage when applying for positions in the BRO. The cadets were encouraged to explore a career in this prestigious organisation, which offers not only job security and career growth but also the chance to serve the nation through infrastructure development.
The lecture was well-received by the cadets, who actively engaged in the Q&A session following the presentation. Many expressed interest in learning more about BRO and its significant role in nation-building. The event marked another successful step in BRO’s outreach efforts, aimed at inspiring the next generation of leaders to contribute to the country’s infrastructure and defence.
