Cable network owner shot at in Kashmir’s Shopian

Suspected militants on Sunday evening shot at and injured a person, owner of a local cable network  in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

A police official told GNS that Hilal Ahmad Malik R/O Malik Mohalla, Shopian was shot at by the gunmen near his residence  at around 8:05 pm.

Malik was immediately shifted to nearby hospital where from he was refereed to Srinagar hospital in critical conditions, he said.

Meanwhile, army, police and CRPF cordoned the area and launched the hunt to nab the attackers. No one has been arrested when this report was filed.

Meanwhile, A bullet- riddled body of a 16-year-old youth, was recovered in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Sunday morning.

Official sources  said that the body of the teenager, was found by the locals and accordingly informed the police.

The police recovered the body soon after information that the youth was lying in pool of blood near the peripheries of an orchard at Nagbal.

Station House Officer (SHO) concerned while confirming the incident identified the deceased as Gowhar Ahmad Dar s/o Abdul Rahim Dar r/o Urpara, Nagbal.

“He was missing since last evening and perhaps kidnapped by militants. His bullet-riddled body was recovered today morning,” he said.
