No dearth of talent in J&K's youth but they need proper mentorship: Director NIT Sgr
CEO of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar's Startup Move Beyond- A Career Counselling School met Honorable Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan and apprised him about various developments and activities.
Founder and Director of Move Beyond, Sheikh Inayat Ullah appraised the LG about his innovative career guidance model that is aimed to reach out youth of Jammu and Kashmir and provide them a vibrant platform.
He expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor for proactive support from the Government to the start-ups in J&K and discussed the overall socio-economic position of the UT of J&K.
Sheikh Inayat Ullah also highlighted innovative initiatives needed to be taken in the UT on the level of growth and prosperity.
The Lt Governor Manoj Sinha assured the young innovator of all support from the UT administration. He also directed the Department of Mission Youth for providing support and assistance to startups for taking this model to its logical conclusion.
In his message, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal said there is no dearth of talent among the youth of Kashmir but they need proper guidance, mentorship to enhance and encourage their capabilities.
"There used to be very limited options in the past and today there are huge career avenues. The intervention of Move Beyond is apt and timely as there is a need to counsel the students for choosing a particular career path,” he said.
Institution's Registrar Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari said career counseling and guidance will help students in a larger way in choosing the right careers. It will help in boosting the confidence and morale of the student and the professional, he said.
"Career counseling helps them analyze their strengths and weaknesses and helps in finding the perfect career path,” Prof Bukhari said, adding that NIT's Srinagar Move Beyond will continue to guide students of the region.
Head Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IIEDC), NIT, Srinagar Dr. Saad Parvez, Move Beyond is a social startup by youth and for the youth.
"We are working hard to make this initiative a great success," he said.
Dr. Saad Parvez said Move Beyond will also identify structural, technical bottlenecks and develop solutions. It will task itself to place the potential aspirants at state, national and international level, he said.
Move Beyond is a first startup of IIEDC, NIT Srinagar. It is a social entrepreneurship venture and incubated by Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IIEDC), NIT, Srinagar.
