The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has postponed class 11th examinations scheduled to be held in Kashmir valley tomorrow, when separatists have called for a strike against alleged attempts to abrogate Article 35-A.
“It is hereby notified for the information of all the heads of institutions/concerned candidates and stake-holders that the examination pertaining to ongoing Higher Secondary Examination Part-I (class 11th) Term-1st and Term-2nd Session July, 2017 scheduled to be held tomorrow has been postponed,” a BOSE spokesperson said.
He said the examinations have been rescheduled on August 16 at the same time and venue.
Both the faction of Hurriyat Conference (HC) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) have called for a general strike in the valley against alleged attempts being made to abrogate Article 35-A. Various trader bodies, including Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) and Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Forum (KTMF), have extended support to the strike.
