Come up with comprehensive policy

Jammu and Kashmir is facing lot of hardships in addressing youngsters, especially college students. The government recently decided to close the private tuition centers for a period of 90 days. Minister for Education, Chodwary Zulfkar ordered the closure was that these coaching centers are a distraction in the studies. However after massive protests on social media, state government came out with clarifications that the private tuition centers which offer coaching up to class 12th “will be closed for time being and the decision in this regard will be reviewed on fortnightly basis. It was further clarified that the coaching centers offering education to prepare for professional courses after the 12th class examination will not be affected. The State government has been hit the massive protests and the decision was taken in the backdrop of student protests over the rape and murder of an eight-year-old Gujjar girl of Kathua, which the government is wishing to get defused. The PDP-BJP government is finfing it hard to end the student protests and resume the education in the higher secondary schools, which remained closed after the demonstrations over the Kathua case. However, it is an unending process and the government must come out with some humane policy to address the grievances of the student community and try to handle them with extrme care. There are certainly some vested interests that are always out to disrupt the education system in Kashmir. But the Mehbooba Mufti led coalition government should look at it in larger perspective and try to handle the situation by reaching out the affected students. There have been reports of the gross violation of rules by the private tuition centers, which are charging hefty fee from the students. The private coaching centers are fleecing the students by charging exorbitant tuition fee and among the 182 coaching centers which have been granted registration recently by the education department not even a single centre has notified its fee structure. It is mandatory for the education department to notify the fee structure vide order no 1246 DESK of 2017 dated October 7, 2017. However this is again floated by concerned. There are many tuition centers which are charging nearly heavy sum for the 12th class in medical streams. Rather than closing down some of the coaching centers, government must take some measures to upgrade the education system in the government run educational systems. The government in this regard must also come up with some comprehensive educational policy to bring back the derailed education system of Kashmir region back on track.
