Jammu and Kashmir College Contractual Teachers Association Friday staged a protest against non-payment of wages from past 14 months. They also demanded regularization without any delay.
A large number of teachers assembled assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar and raised slogans against officials at the helm of affairs in the department.
The protesters alleged that officials of the department failed to plead their case and never bothered to address their grievances. “We have been performing our duties on daily basis and yet deprived of our earned wages. We haven’t received salaries from past 14 months,” the protesters told Kashmir News Trust.
They demanded immediate regularization saying that they are capable of doing wonders but the government never appreciates their efforts. “We don’t want to hit roads on daily basis as it doesn’t look good. But government has left us with no option but to protest,” they said. (KNT)
