Have you ever contemplated on why Muslims are considered backward in the world today or have you ever thought that why Muslim nations are suffering and suffocating everywhere. You may be well aware that modern era is considered to be an era of enlightenment, reformation and invention. All nations are striving to prove their worth in every field either in the field of technology or any other field but Muslim Ummah which used to be torch bearer of knowledge and exploration, is unfortunately lagging behind in spite of having abundant resources in terms of men and material .the younger generation of Ummah is unaware of their glorious past and legacy that has been negatively affected by this scenario.

It is obvious Islam has contributed a lot to the world. It kept alive the higher intellectual life and the study of science in a period when whole world including the west was reeling under abject darkness. It is under the patronage of Islam that science and technology flourished. In 1285 Baghdad was a global center of knowledge which was later on destroyed by Tatars was the research work of centuries done by Muslim scientists. It is said that only one book out of 1000 survived hence the libraries were destroyed once and for all. It was a Muslim geologist who discovered fossils (the remaining part of plants and animals). Al Masudi described earth quakes in his book meadows of God. a great book Kitabul Ahjar was written by Ibne Sena only on geology in Europe for centuries. After that Muslims work on BOTANY, in 18th century Muslim botanists developed more than 830 varieties of tulip. Abu Ubaidah was the first Muslim zoologist who wrote more than 100 books on zoology ,51 on horses alone. Despite of that Hajiz Basr wrote Kitabul Haiwan which discussed 350 animals alone. In physics kamalu din was the one who observed the path of rays in the interior of a glass sphere in order to examine the refraction of sunlight in rain drops.
