December 24, 2019 | BK NEWS SERVICE /

A court of Anti Corruption Bureau in Srinagar on Monday granted bail to the accused in recruitment scam at J&K Bank including two former chairmen.
Sources said the Jammu Kashmir Bank employees including two former chairmen Sheikh Mushtaq and Parvez Ahmed were produced before Anti-Corruption Court. Anti-Corruption Bureau has charged for fraud in connection with a recruitment of the Bank.
A recruitment scandal had surfaced in 2019 following which the ACB had registered as case against 23 persons.
The matter was taken seriously by the then Governor of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik. Even the then Bank Chairman Parvez Ahmed had admitted that some recruitments were made on political grounds and he had assured the job for deserved drop out aspirants.
The Government had taken a tough stand and it forced Parvez Ahmed to abdicate. The case was handed over to Anti-Corruption Bureau that after thorough investigation, booked a dozen Jammu Kashmir Bank officials.
After questioning these officials in question, the ACB had presented a charge sheet against them holding them responsible for the recruitment scandal.
