Today entire World is engaged in a war with a lurking monster_ Corona Virus.
United States of America , China, North Korea like superpower nations seem to be utterly undone and helpless .Every one is in a state of frustration and trepidation and seem to test hit and trials to cope up with an expected outbreak.
The death toll has crossed 10 thousand mark and the people afflicted with the disease are in lakhs. Even the people of high standard life style and those related to the medical profession itself are falling prey to the pendemic which is a clear proof of the formidable nature of the disease and the feeble standing of the humankind before this ravenous enemy.
It has caused grave concern the world over and the people , finding the dispensation ineffective before it , are hopeless and panicky .
The increasing number of infected cases and widening geographical spread of the disease raise grave concerns about the future trajectory of the outbreak.
The data collected so far on how many people are infected and how the epidemic is evolving are utterly unreliable and reveal that the disease is spreading like a wild fire.
Three months after the outbreak , most of the advanced countries, including the U.S., lack the competence and expertise to test the growing number of affected people and no country has solid information on the proficiency of the virus.
Nancy Messonnier , director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has accepted as :
"While we still don’t have the full picture and we can’t predict how this situation will play out in the US ”.
The world is a “a playground” for viruses like the novel coronavirus .
“We must realize that in our crowded world of 7.8 billion people, a combination of altered human behaviors, environmental changes, and inadequate global public health mechanisms now easily turn obscure animal viruses into existential human threats” , infectious disease experts wrote an expert in the New England Journal of Medicine last week.

India's Response....

India being equally a victim of the catastrophe and a part of the global partners to work for the control of this outbreak has recommended some precautionary measures having a firm belief that prevention is better than cure.
The Indian government has recommended residents to avoid mass gatherings until the spread of COVID-19 is contained.
The Govt. asserts that health workers are fully trained for a possible devastating outbreak, isolation wards are being introduced in almost all state-run hospitals and some suitable sites. Many well equipped laboratories across the country have been made functional 24 X 7 for testing masses and identification of the infected ones.
India has also stopped export of masks and other essentials to make sure there is no scarcity to safeguard its people.
"India is thoroughly prepared to handle any situation that could emerge. We are alert, meticulous and conscious," writes Mr Harah.Vardhan.
Advisories are being communicated through various means to cover almost each individual person of the nation to avoid least chance of carelessness.
These and many other measures for the welfare of the society sound promising but may still not be sufficient to forestall the pandemic.
Scanning and Screening at air and sea ports will not suffice unless public movement is restricted .
The incubation period of the virus though reported 14 days, the isolation period should be beyond that as many pathogens exhibit latent infection where the symptoms do not appear despite infection.
"Airport entry screening is good and should be continued, but that's not going to be sufficient now. We have to put in place other surveillance mechanisms through systems India already has," S. Swaminathan, chief scientist at the WHO, says.
The pandemic though worrying the human beings has helped to unite the world to fight this challenge together.
World over the nations are leaving their personal interests to lend their helping hands to fight this disaster irrespective of whether they have fallen its preys or not.

Precautions...

The WHO declared the virus a global pandemic, and said it was "deeply concerned by the alarming levels of spread and severity" of the disease.
WHO prescribes key and elemental hygiene such as regularly washing hands with soap, covering mouth when sneezing or coughing.
Keep at least 4 feet distance between yourself and others - particularly if they are coughing and sneezing.
This is called “social distancing” or “physical distancing,” and is basically a call to stand far away from other people.
Avoid touching your face, eyes and mouth with unwashed hands
Fend off futile, unprotected contact with animals and conscientiously wash hands after any such contact.
