Dehumanization of Rohingiya’s the Humanitarian Crisis -1

The devastating thing is that even the schools doesn’t recognize these children’s, don’t give them admission for higher studies, this is the stain to the human world!

The issue of enforced exodus of Rohingiyas is a huge challenge to the human world- to the world countries who endorses and purports the humanitarian laws. From Myanmar to the borders of different countries the ill treatment these people are getting is against the principles and guidelines of the different conventions regarding the refugees_ as refugees must be given all the basic necessities and safeguarded by the state where they have taken the shelter. The recent lockdown on them in Bathindi- Jammu is both illegal as well as violation of international conventions on refugees.

Mohammed Haneef – one of the men who asked us to have patience while listening him and asked for our attention because nobody ever had time or sympathy to listen their miseries. Whether in Myanmar, or across the borders or anywhere else. Started with personal loss, his father has been burnt down alive by the Burmese authorities while escaping from the Burma. When we asked for more, the tears started rolling down from his eyes, don’t ask for more, he replied. He had many things to tell the world, particularly to the UNO” we want nothing, just a treatment of being a human, we have families and we too have our own land, they (ambassadors of human rights) could not save our land, we left everything behind even we lost our loved ones. If this isn’t a humanitarian issue then noting is and UNO must be dissolved with this, because it doesn’t serve its foundational objectives and promises anymore.
He further goes on saying that since we left our land we never lived a single day without fear and in Burma , we can’t get a land for the grave , not the last rites or funerals that is somehow tolerating but how one wishes to live in a place where even dead bodies are being burnt down.
Media’s wrong notion about them:
Sanaullah, 40 years old talked about their struggles and hardships said that, Fear has always been our colleague and you know we don’t fear anymore now because we have seen the wild beasts more humble and kind than humans. We are living in Jammu since 2013and we do hard work, touch my hands, these are as hard as iron is and I don’t feel any pain even if my hands will get crushed down. We do different works like blacksmith, carpenter, daily wagers and even women also works as house cleaners over here in some Jammu residential homes. It is an unfortunate that some local media channels tagged us thieves and reported that police are lodging us into the detention jails because natives have filed complaints about our different behavior, which is absolutely a brute tactics and open lie. For that purpose anyone can talk to the people around us, they love us and they know we are honest and good people.
The recent fear grows among them when police arrested more than 168 irrespective of age. This has silenced and terrorized them. The arrests are fanciful and arbitrary. They have been told that you are being taken to hospitals for covid19 tests but were lodged into the Hiranagar jail in Jammu. Mariam , 33 years old said that in the year 2020 when whole world was battling with this deadly virus and almost each community and society had such cases, we have not even a single such case in our whole clan here . We are enough preventive, neat, and clean people. They are now embarrassing and harassing us in the name of these tests. We have been seeing this since our childhood and we broken now. We love our land and we are more patriotic, we want to return to our land but once situations are normal out there.
Abdul karim , 21 years old boy who was in deep despair and anguished , from last 3 days he has not seen his 11 year old sister and 70 years old grandmother who have been picked up by the police with other 168 people . He even went to the local police station and Hiranagar jail also but police had denied providing any information about the whereabouts of them. He said that in Myanmar, we escape unhurt but in Jammu, it feels we have slow death now and which hurts us more. “We are not animals; even animals get good treatment than us.
Refugees in Bhatindi told us that the police personnel had approached them last Saturday with a list of names. “We were told to renew our documents,” and some have been taken in order to have a covid19 tests, and for that reason, they agreed to go because they believe this is for public health and interests.
Muhammad Faisal, one of Rehman’s neighbours, said. “Some left with the police and others were about to leave when we heard that police had detained our people, including Innayat’s mother and sister. We were afraid and decided to stay put.”
Asma – 7 years old girl, she is a student of first standard and is admitted in one of the English medium school in Bathindi Jammu. She speaks fluently, outspoken and having all the insights about their origin and unprecedented times. Though she gave birth in Jammu but too witty to seek their miseries. When I asked her about aim in life, she uttered the heart warming and wisdom. She answered, if I lose everything but education is what I don’t want to lose, and just want to write the stories of my people, the mayhem and melancholy. Surprisingly, every year she stands among the top 10 bright students of the school in every examination.
The devastating thing is that even the schools doesn’t recognize these children’s, don’t give them admission for higher studies, this is the stain to the human world! The reason for getting education is to have citizenship, who said education is free and universal, the mother of Asma asked?
The mass raid that took on these families and carrying them away to the detention centers is a part of a wider pan-India crackdown on Rohingya refugees by the Narendra Modi government. Long rattled by frequent displacements, countless Rohingya now face deportation to Myanmar, which is currently simmering under a military coup. To Be Continued
