DESK pays surprise visit to central Kashmir schools

Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, today paid a surprise visit to various schools of the Srinagar and Budgam districts in the central Kashmir.
However, all educational institutions throughout the Kashmir valley are closed for the past about four months due to strike called by separatists.
An official spokesman said the Director was accompanied by Chief Education Officers from the respective districts. He instructed the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) to ensure the punctuality of all the staff members of the school and directed them to remain available during the duty hours.
He also directed Zonal Education Officers to monitor the functioning of their respective schools and inspect them on daily basis and forward the report to the concerned CEOs and Directorate on daily basis.
While expressing his satisfaction that students have shown eagerness in the opening of schools, he said this is a must to safeguard their academic future. He appealed to all sections of the society in ensuring functioning and safety of school buildings.
