Authorities said a young doctor died after suffering a massive cardiac arrest in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday afternoon.
According to the Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag, Mukhtar Ahmad Shah, the doctor identified as Dr Aashiq Hussain, a resident of Lal Bazar area of Srinagar, suffered a massive cardiac arrest at his clinic in Anantnag town.
Shah said Aashiq was immediately shifted to district hospital Anantnag where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The body was later handed over to family for last rites.
A pall of gloom descended at the native place of the deceased soon after the news of his demise spread. Hundreds of relatives and neighbors gathered at the residence to condole with the family of the deceased who was working at his clinic at the time of the heart attack.
