Scores of parents whose wards are study at Delhi Public School (DPS) Athwajan Srinagar Friday alleged that school management forced them to pay transport fee of unrest period from August till date.
Government has categorically directed schools not to demand any transport fee from the parents, but the management at DPS trampled these directions and forced parents from pay transport fee.
“The school management charged Rs 1900 as transport fee from me, though my son never used any school vehicle during unrest period as the school was locked,” said a father of the student.
The school management refused to provide study material to students and asked them first to clear transport fee. “The directions that come from the government are limited to print and electronic media while on ground nothing changes. DPS is the only school in my knowledge that acts as a state within a state. This school never honors any government order,” said parents and sought intervention of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.
