Several areas of Srinagar city are facing acute shortage of drinking water from past few days.
These areas include Koolipora Khanyar, Khayam, Kohnakhan where people are repeatedly requesting concerned authorities to look into the matter and address the grave problem.
The locals said that water shortage was felt after PDD started cutting branches and since then they not only face power shortage but drinking water is not available to them. They said authorities don’t pay any heed.
A delegation from Koolipora area said that they will hit to roads if water shortage persists in coming days.
For Chief Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department meeting was more important than to listening to the grievances of the people. An official of the Department said that matter will be looked into and drinking water will be made available to the people at an earliest.
