Eid-ul-Fitr: Remember Poor and Needy

In religion Islam, EID-UL-FITR literally means “Festival of Breaking the Fast.” During the holy month of Ramadan Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, a practice they believe brings them closer to Almighty, Allah. It also marks the end of fasting in Ramadan.The Messenger of Allah Prophet Muhammad SAW ordained Zakat Al-Fitr to purify the fasting person from indecent words or actions, and to provide food for the needy. It is accepted as Zakah for the person who gives it before the Eid prayer, but it is a Sadaqah for the one who gives it after the Eid prayer.
EID-UL-FITR is the auspicious festival celebrated by the Muslim Ummah all over the world on every 1st of Shawal, Al-Hijri, Islamic calendar . The word Eid literally means celebration, holiday or happiness. The real celebration of this day is achieved by those people who got the rewards and fruits of the holy Ramadan in the form of Allah's mercies and blessing. Eid-Ul-Fitr is bestowed upon us with incomparable and infinite joys and Muslims all over the world celebrate this pious and auspicious day with huge enthusiasm and high spirits. They celebrate this pious and sacred festival each other, adding it's flavor and fragrance in the four corners of the world. This auspicious day is adorned with true colors of love, peace and compassion. On this day, Almighty Allah gives reward to His slaves for the fasting they kept in the holy month of Ramadan. On this day, people from all races irrespective of caste, color, rich or poor give warm hugs to one another, compliments and salutations. On this day, Muslims all over the world are engulfed with happiness given to them by their Lord, Almighty Allah. They are provided with this gorgeous occasion for the good deeds they have done in the holy Ramadan. EID-UL-FITR thrives with peace, love and joy. The Muslims living all over the globe celebrate this occasion by sharing gifts to one another. They gather at one place and offer Eid prayers. They welcome the holy Eid prayers with enthusiasm and embrace each other hale and heartily. They gave each other happy and warm hugs and good wishes of this holiday. This day is the holiest day of Muslim world. On this day, Muslims gather at one place, Eidgah to offer holy prayers of Eid. It is the auspicious day when Muslims offer Zakat, Sadqa-e- Fitr to those who are poor, needy and destitute. This part of financial share is given to purify the Ramadan fasting and get closer to the Lord of the universe forever. It is the way, when muslim all over the world get showered by the grace of mercies of one God, Allah. It is the day, when Almighty Allah provide us with infinite bounties of love, joy, peace and compassion. The feeling of this day left everyone marrying with joy. Muslims all over the world celebrate this holiday by sharing feasts, meals etc. The festival is engulfed with the bounties of happiness and joy. The happiness of this day is the sign of love, Peace, compassion, fraternity and brotherhood.
EID-UL-FITR, one of the holiest festive of Muslims is adorned with the colourful cultural activities and traditions. The festival is governed by the obligatory deities of Islam. People are happy on this auspicious day and prepare delicious foods.They share their breakfast, lunch, dinners portraying the best example of brotherhood, peace and love. On this day, Muslims contribute a share of financial assistance to the poor people of the society in the form of Zakat,
Sadqa-Fitr. This is the small part of financial assistance through which poor and needy people are provided with help. This is the share through which our fasting gets purify and we seek perfect forgiveness and Mercies of Almighty Allah. Muslims all over the world adorn themselves with new make ups, wear neat and clean clothes. Their houses are also adorned with colorful lights, neat and clean matting’s. On this day people cook meat in their homes and share some part of it to their neighbor's also. This festival is decorated and embellished with new amusements. On this day, children decorate themselves with new colorful dresses. They buy various colorful goods and play together in the playgrounds. They buy sweets etc. They wear new clothes and adorn themselves with colourful costumes. On this day, Muslims give pocket money to their kith and kins as Eidi. They buy toffees, toys and fruits. Children also save some part of Eidi for future pocket expenditure.
EID-UL -FITR is not only the festival of eating delicious foods. But the primary happiness of this day lies in the contribution towards poor and needy people. Helping the poor and needy ones giving Zakat to them in the form of sadqa and in the form of donation is the real aim and purpose of this celebration. They too deserve happiness on this auspicious day. They are also part and parcel of our society. They need our utmost love and care. On this part of contribution, maximum people who are poor and needy could be provided with some sort of happiness. This Eid belongs to all whether poor or rich. So it is the need of the time to contribute towards poor and needy by giving Alms, Zakat and other donations. These destitute and needy people of the community have also families. They too have needs and their
children too have desires of Eidi. Zakat and Sadqa-e-Fitr is the amount that could prove backbone for the survival and happiness of poor and needy people. It is the day of contribution. Our small contribution could give happiness to thousands of people. All human beings deserve felicity and pleasure of this day. All human beings deserve to feed their families on the day. It is the day of celebration, holiday, happiness, love and peace. So contribute whatever you could, even a single penny of yours shall lit up many lives and provide them with happiness of this auspicious day.
In fact, the pandemic crisis which we are facing at present have effected millions of lives. So in this crucial juncture of time. It is both moral as well as religious obligation to help the people who are destitute, poor and needy.
Our small contribution in the form of Zakat, Alms and Sadqah on this Eid could give some portion of food to them. If they don't get two morsels of food even on this holiest day, then we don't deserve to be Muslims. Contributing with a single penny matters a lot. So contribute generously. Remember the poor and needy people on this Eid. Kindly give Zakat and sadqa and get highest rewards of Allah.
This is based on the hadith: The Prophet of Allah said, "The fasting of the month of Ramadan will be hanging between earth and heavens and it will not be raised up to the Divine Presence without paying the Zakat al-Fitr." To purify those who fast from any indecent act or speech and to help the poor and needy. So remember poor and needy on this auspicious day.
