Our country is said to be myriad of religions, cultures and races. Among the various religions that dot the Indian canvas. Islam occupies a significant place as it is practised by a large chunk of Indian population. Ramzan Eid is a festival of showing love, care and brotherhood to each other. Ramzan means the 'festival of breaking the fast'. Fitra is derived from the word 'fatar' means 'breaking'. It is a believed that fasting in the month of ‘Ramzan’ purifies the soul. According to tradition, Eid-al-Fitr (Ramzan) was instituted by Prophet Mohammed after his journey from Mecca to Madina (622 Hijri, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar). The prayers after fasting save them from going to hell and open the doors of heaven. The sight of the new moon of Eid is considered very pious and holy by the Muslims. It is a signal for the celebration of a festival the very next day. It marks the beginning of new life for the Muslims after a period of self- control and fast. It is a festival that brings people together and binds them.
The word Eid means ‘festivity’ or ‘recurring happiness.’ "It is also known as Festival of the Breaking of the Fast," or "the Feast of Fast-Breaking."The Prophet announced that the Eid day was to rejoice and show solidarity among Muslims. Fasting makes us realize how dependent our lives are on things that we often take for granted, such as food and water. The significance of this festival is also interpreted as a good time to bring people together in harmony and gratitude. "Eid Mubarak," which means "Have a blessed Eid!," The festival is marked with feasts and the faithful offers prayers at mosques and idgahs to seek blessings of the divine. Ramadan Mubarak is the most common greeting used by Muslims, and translates to “have a blessed Ramadan”. It is perfect for the people, who believe in the fasting of Ramadan month and after fasting, they do the prayers of their god to save them from going to hell andopens the door of heaven. Nevertheless, Eid-ul-Fitr has a deep connection to the Prophet Muhammad; the central figure of the religion.
Muslims always remain stick to the value of Quran. This is because Quran is the book which exhibits its supremacy in writing over other books that came before with other prophets. It is mentioned in Quran that all previous book is now null and void. Supremacy is not created by man but by Almighty Allah Subhan-w-Tala .It is a rejuvenation of the religion and it creates a stronger bond between the Muslim and Almighty Allah Subhan-w-Tala .The Quran specifies: “Ramzan is the month in which the Quran was revealed as guidance to man and clear proof of guidance, And criterion (of falsehood and truth). As said in the Quran, on this day people should give charitable gift to needy people as thanksgiving. It gives us a message to love all and hate none. It teaches us to embrace all men as brothers. Remembering the Plight of poor and giving charity. On this Holy day it is mostly encouraged to provide charity as it promotes brotherhood and provides an opportunity to for earning the blessings of Allah. Thus Eid is considered as a gift to all those Muslims who kept fast and stayed hungry and worshiped entire month.
