On Friday following Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), thousands of devotees visited Hazratbal shrine to have glimpse of holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
On Friday following today, the congregational prayers were held at various shrines and Masjids across the Valley while the main gathering was held at Hazratbal Dargah shrine here where the devotees from different parts of the Valley participated in the special prayers.
The special arrangements were made today in wake of the Covid-19 with Waqf officials informing that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were followed in letter and spirit.
The holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was displayed after every prayer at Hazratbal shrine today.
Special prayers were held for the peace, prosperity, progress and development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, a large number of people gathered at Hazratbal shrine participated in “Shab Khawani” night long prayers on Thursday.
The markets were abuzz around the shrine complex and people were seen purchasing items of their choice from the road side vendors.
The authorities had made adequate arrangements of transport, electricity, water and cleanliness around the shrine complex, the sources added.
However, the historic Jamia Masjid, which usually witnesses a huge gathering on the Friday following of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) , remained closed as a preventive measure due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, seminars and programmes were organized in Masjids and shrines today in which the Islamic clerics threw light on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
