The Jammu and Kashmir Government this week suspended an Accounts Officer in Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) after finding him guilty of accepting a bribe of 5000 rupees and took the accused into custody.
Nazir Ahmed Pir S/O Mohammad Hamza Pir R/O Latti Shath, Tujjar Sharif, Sopore, working as Accounts Officer in Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) was caught red handed by the sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), while accepting a bribe of 5000 rupees, from the complainant for releasing his bills on 15th February, 2020. Senior Superintendent of Police Anti Corruption Bureau said that the accused was taken into custody, after being caught accepting the bribe red handed, while the Finance department said that Financial Commissioner Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta issued the orders of his suspension.
Nazir Ahmed Pir is police custody on remand since last Saturday, granted by 1st Additional Magistrate, Special Anti Corruption Judge Baramulla, while he was put under suspension with immediate effect in terms of rule 31 (@) of J&K Classification Control and Appeal Rule 1956.
Officials said that during the suspension period Nazir Ahmed Pir will remain attached to the office of Director Accounts and Treasuries, Kashmir. (CNS)
