Jammu and Kashmir Minister of State for Forests, Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperatives Mir Zahoor Ahmad has said the Government headed by the Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti is committed to provide basic amenities to the people of all the regions of the State.
The Minister was interacting with various deputations from across the State including those from Shopian Constituency who called on him here today.
The deputations raised collective problems of their respective areas and demanded immediate redress. The issues raised by the deputations included timely supply of timber, opening of new animal and sheep husbandry centres, power woes etc.
The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into.
The Minister said that directions have already been given to J&K State Forest Corporation to ensure timely supply and distribution of timber and firewood to the consumers. He said the departments like fisheries, animal, sheep husbandry and cooperative have been asked to create awareness about the Central and State sector schemes so that maximum lot gets benefited. Mir Zahoor appealed the people to come forward and take advantage of these schemes.
One of the deputations was headed by the MLA Shopian Advocate Mohammad Yousuf alongwith former Legislator Abdul Razak Wagay (Zawoora) who also met the Minister and apprised him about various issues and other developmental related works of Shopian Constituency including construction of building for Animal Husbandry Department.
The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands would be redressed immediately.
