The Horticulture department Kulgam today organised a day long demonstration cum Farm Machinery distribution mela at Mini-Secretariat, here.

During the camp, authorization letters were distributed by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat among the beneficiaries.
A number of authorized dealers participated in the mela and showcased the modern farm machinery, and machinery for purchase on concessional rates, facilitated by the department.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of horticulture and allied sectors and stressed upon the farmers to adopt modern interventions for better crop productions.
He also urged upon the concerned departments to raise awareness on modern intervention of farming to boost the horticulture and allied sectors in the district.
Chief Horticulture Officer Kulgam, Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Baba highlighted various schemes/programmes of the department and guided the farmers to avail assistance on different component activities available under different schemes of the department.
The programme was attended by District Development Council Chairperson, Mohammad Afzal Parray and other DDC members, besides a large number of progressive farmers/ orchardists and beneficiaries.
