After serving diplomatic services for more than two decades, the Government of India removed Upjit Singh Sachdeva from the post of Honorary Consulate general of Liberia.

According to the information, the government has taken this decision in view of the Indian community's displeasure with Sachdeva in Liberia.

According to sources, the Indian community of Liberia was not happy with the work of Upjit Singh Sachdeva. Complaints were being made about the same at the Indian Embassy.

There were allegations of corruption and misuse of power and post.

After verifying the complaints received, the Ministry of External Affairs came into action immediately and with immediate effect, he was removed from his post by issuing an order on 5 February prohibiting all powers of Sachdeva.

In continuation let me tell you that Sachdeva, also known as 'Jeety', is also the chief executive officer of Jeety Trading Corporation.

The company is a well-known company supplying building materials in Liberia.

Sachdeva was appointed as Honorary Consulate general in 1998.
