Indian women Taekwondo team won 5 medals in Intl women Taekwondo championship
Indian Taekwondo Team Won 3 SILVER and 2 Bronze medals in 1st Women International Taekwondo Championships 2017 at Kathmandu,Nepal from 5th to 6th April 2017 organized by Women Empowerment Committe and Nepal Taekwondo Association which is recognized by Nepal Olympic Association. Around 8 countries participated in the said championships..This is first ever International Women Taekwondo Championship organized by any National Federation. The main moto of conducting this championship is Women Empowerment in Sports.
Taekwondo Federation of India sent their 8 members Women National Team for the above said championship and players from across the country selected for that  3 female players from J&K got opportunity to took part in this championship. Mukta Gupta (Physical Education Teacher of Youth Services &Sports) won Bronze medal in Individual Poomsae Event Afreen Hyder from Srinagar won Bronze medal in under 57kg and Bazaallla Mushtaq participated in team event. Other players those who won medals for India are Shraddha Dixit from UP won Silver Medal in under 49kg and also best player award of Rs 51000 , Kritika Thakur under 46kg and Shivani Thakur under 53kg won Bronze medals for India
The Indian team led by Atul Pangotra as a Head of Team and Coach (Presently Reputed in J&K State Sports Council as a Taekwondo Coach) and Harish Tokas from Delhi as a Coach
Taekwondo Federation of India President Sh Chetan Anand met Indian team after arrival and congratulate Medal winners and coaches. Secretary General TFI Sh Prabhat Sharma congratulate team by telephonically  and appreciate the effort of Indian Women Team AND  also appreciate the success of J&K TAEKWONDO ASSOCIATION .
J&K Taekwondo Association Chairman Sh Anil Gupta (Annu) President Sh P.C Sharma, General Secretary D.N Pangotra, Vice president Sh Nissar Hussain and Organizing Secetary Sh Anuj Sharma  welcomed Women players in Jammu and appreciated them.
It is pertinent that Taekwondo Federation of India is the only body affiliates with Indian Olympic Association
