Inter-school Zonal Level Chess Competition held at Dangiwacha

The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) District Baramulla continues its commitment to promoting sports among the youth with the ongoing inter-school zonal level competitions across various zones, in accordance with the Annual Sports Calendar 2024.
In this connection, Zone Dangiwacha successfully organized an inter-school zonal level chess competition for under 14 and under 17 girls at HSS Dangiwacha. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 36 students in the under 14 category and 10 students in the under 17 category, representing various schools of Zone Dangiwacha.
Nazir Ahmad Bhat, the District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla, emphasized the significance of organizing sports events as they offer students a platform for holistic development.
Through sports, students learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Such initiatives not only promote physical well-being but also contribute to the overall growth and character building of the youth in the community, he added.
Certificates were awarded to the position holders, recognizing their exemplary performance and sportsmanship.
